Wasting all my time sleeping under water… Song 6

Today’s song has a decidedly “grunge” style to it. I think it must be residual feelings from yesterday’s song. It may sound odd, but it took more effort for me to do a song with no synths in it. I really wanted to, but stood firm and finished the song with no bells and whistles. Just guitars, bass, drums and vocals. I like how it turned out… but tomorrow, I can’t promise anything. *fires up ARP2600 plugin*.

Song 6: “My Release”

Don’t take away my release, it’s the only thing that gives me
Peace enough to let myself be free
Cuz I don’t trust myself to leave it up to me
I’ll forgive

All the times I tried to hide away my head
All the times I wished I were dead
I’ll forgive

Don’t tug the switches in my mind, It’s all I need to help me
Find another day to get along
Freeze another thought in a song
I’ll forgive

All the times I tried to slip away
All the times I couldn’t find a better way
I’ll forgive

Wasting all my time, sleeping under water
Breathing in the dreams of lives I’ll never leave
It’s taking my whole life away

Don’t take my release, don’t take my release
It’s all that gives me peace, It’s all that gives me peace
