Don’t turn your back on me… Song 40

Does it matter? Does it mean anything? Is this really worth anything? Doubt can be debilitating if you let it. There is a walking fire in everybody that is embodied in your creative spirit. Yes, it matters. Even if you’re the only one that sees it. Yes, it means everything because we are beings that are meant to create. Yes, it’s worth everything because this spark is what ignites the world. Like falling trees, if a song goes unsung, who benefits? If a song goes unheard, who cares? You do. I do. Chase away the doubt, find the fire that walks with you. Create for the sake of creation. If you help inspire someone, that’s amazing. But, inspire yourself first. We’re all creators… even if nobody else sees it.

Today’s song is built on the acoustic guitar part. It’s in an open tuning with a capo on the 5th fret. The open strings droning gives the guitar an almost sitar sound. The strings buzz against the frets and the harmonics interact in an almost hypnotic way. Adding some minimal drums, synths and a piano part fleshed out the wall of sound. I purposely played the bass aggressively to give the track some more punch. I topped it all off with a fuzzed out guitar solo. I like the way it turned out. Check it out!

Song 40: “Walking Fire”

Walking fire, I believe in you
Don’t fade away, I believe in you

Walking fire, I chase the world for you
Don’t fade away, I chase the world for you

All these dreams kiss my fingertips
I run in circles just to catch a glimpse

Walking fire, you chase away the doubt
Don’t fade away, you chase away the doubt

All these dreams kiss my fingertips
I run in circles just to catch a glimpse

Walking fire, don’t turn your back on me
Don’t fade away, don’t turn your back on me

Don’t turn your back on me
