Oh how I wished those clouds away… Song 67

The sun made a valiant effort to warm the day. Alas, the clouds… the clouds… those damn clouds. A sunny morning transformed into a cloudy afternoon. They took my sunny day away. Those days are over now… I’ll never see the sun again. Oh, wait… nevermind.

This song was written on acoustic guitar, but once I finished all the other instrumentation, I liked how it sounded without the guitar. Then, I felt like adding an orchestra and electronic drums. So, this one ended up a lot different than I had originally envisioned it. But I really like how it turned out.

Song 67: “Those Days Are Over”

I fought and fought for too many days
My sunny days were taken away
Oh how I wished those clouds away
Those days are over

Even when I’m right, I don’t want to fight

Anyone can see who I want to be
I don’t want to fight anymore

Deep in thought I wasted away
The time I spent with nothing to say
I don’t know how I made my way
Those days are over

I just want to smile and feel like a child

Anyone can see who I want to be
I don’t want to fight anymore

I fought and fought for too many days
My sunny days were taken away
Oh how I wished those clouds away
Those days are over

Deep in thought I wasted away
The time I spent with nothing to say
I don’t know how I made my way
Those days are over

Those days are over
