Changing into sorrow, sleeping in my shoes… Song 73

Today’s song really kicked my ass. Not because it’s especially complicated, but because my computer decided to be a complete jerk today. My session crashed several times. Plugins wouldn’t load right. I lost a whole string section because I didn’t save the project before one of the crashes. I want to take a hammer to this thing!  And… it’s raining.

Anyway… today’s song is pretty good, all things considered. It actually reminds me a bit of Elton John. Maybe that’s just because it’s piano driven. After all is said and done, I think it turned out pretty good.

Song 73: “The Only One”

Taking up my time, chasing what you want
I’m not the only one, I’m not the only one

Breaking down, faces in the window
I’m not the only one who makes mistakes

Figure out who you are
While facing down who you want to be

Changing into sorrow, sleeping in my shoes
I’m not the only one, I’m not the only one

Starting fires, lighting up these feelings
I’m not the only one who’s afraid

Figure out what you want
While counting up the reasons you have left

I’m thinking maybe, I’m not the only one
I’m thinking maybe, I’m not the only one

Figure out what you want
While counting up the reasons you have left

I’m thinking maybe, I’m not the only one
I’m thinking maybe, I’m not the only one
