Close your eyes and breathe the light… Song 82

Possibly as a rebellion against yesterday’s song, or maybe due to world events and the reactions I’m seeing, this song is on a decidedly more serious note. More things blew up today. More people were killed by other people. Whether it’s in Europe, America or the Middle East, the killing is wrong. Whomever is doing the killing is wrong. And yet again, violence will bring more violence. Anger begets more anger. Hatred spawns more hatred. I wonder how many people know that the flipside of this principle is also true. Love begets more love. Understanding spawns more understanding. Compassion will bring more compassion. I don’t know what the way forward is, but I know actual love is the key to that door.

Song 82: “It Could Happen Anywhere”

A million things could happen
On our way from there to here
It could happen anywhere

I decide which face I show to the light
I decide to choose love

I could start a battle
I could fight in rage
It could happen every day

I decide which face I show to the light
I decide to choose peace

If I could only see
I’m only fighting me
I could choose to be at peace

Close your eyes and breathe the light
Let it fade tonight

A milion things could happen
On my way from here to there
It could happen anywhere

It could happen anywhere
It could happen anywhere
