Speak out loud, they shut you down… Song 118

This is the song I recorded yesterday before my mind freeze. I thought it was a pretty cool jam so I wanted to finish it. I like how it turned out. Lyrically, it’s basically about free speech. People are quick to shout down or insult opposing opinions. It’s even getting to the point of punches thrown and worse. If you have to use violence to get your point across, maybe you need to take a step back and examine your position. No matter how smart or right you think you are, it is possible that you are in the wrong. It is possible that someone knows something you don’t. There is always something to learn. Treat people how you would like to be treated.

Song 118: “Waylaid”

Sorting out the sordid affairs spinning on the air
Listing wishes like fairy tales believing life is fair

They can’t wait to break you down, waylaid
They can’t wait to burn you out, waylaid

Slipping on fingertips grabbing at your feet, they’ll pull you down
Spitting on good intentions offered, they’ll cut you out

They can’t wait to break you down, waylaid
They can’t wait to burn you out, waylaid

Grasp the concept, get it straight
Before you speak
Knock the clock and gather up
All you need
Shine a light, forget to fight
You’ll see the trouble
Speak out loud, they shut you down
Trap you in the bubble

They can’t wait to break you down, waylaid
They can’t wait to burn you out, waylaid
