Six years ago today, I released my very first album. It was a culmination of all my experiences to that date. I felt the need to put my life on hold to record these songs that, in some cases, had been kicking around in my head since childhood. I was helped by my former bandmates and good friends. I worked feverishly. I sacrificed a lot of sanity and life to make this real. In the end, I loved that I could make it happen, but it was just the first step into a larger world of music for me.
What I started six years ago continues to this day. Those first twelve songs kicked off my life of songwriting. 800+ songs later, I am still writing and recording. I’m on my way to 1000. But I like to take a look back every once in a while.
So, when I realized the anniversary of my first album was coming up, I decided to revisit it. I pulled out the original tracks and remixed and mastered the entire album. After recording so many songs since this album came out, the primitive way I recorded a lot of this stuck out to me. I still feel that this album should be a proud moment for me. So, I cleaned it up a bit, but tried to preserve it as much as possible.
So, without further explanation or excuses, here’s the album.
